So I started a non-writing project during lockdown to keep myself sane.

I started what I’m calling my “Stay Home Stay Sane” project for when I’m not writing…and…yeah I think my miniatures collection may have got a bit out of hand over the years.

I’m not sure at what point I decided I needed 200+ Moria goblins. I’ll need to build a battle scenery set that justifies them all.

Not a single miniature on that table is fully painted. The shame…

That’s the challenge I’m setting myself. A lot of them were still in boxes three weeks ago, so I’ve been doing a lot of gluing.

I bought a bunch of the LOTR ones on ebay a while back, and a few were already painted. I decided that was cheating (and they were badly painted) so I’ve base coated them all again because the challenge obviously wasn’t big enough…

I used to play wargames and rpgs a lot , many years ago, but I sold off most of my painted collection and regretted it. I’ve spent the last 15 years rebuilding a collection and I’ve pretty much got back a lot of what I sold off except for some 40k stuff that is just too expensive now.

At a rough count I’m about 40 (ish) figures shy of enough Dwarves to field “The Battle of Five Armies” by actual numbers…and a space dwarf army nearly as big…(battle of five sci-fi armies anyone?)

There’s over 100 hobbits! They were from a Kickstarter by Midlam Miniatures a couple of years ago. I couldn’t resist. The town guard all wear pot helms
