There is a place where nightmares come true.
It is a dark and terrifying place that is hidden from the world we know, by borders that only the most unfortunate of souls will ever cross.
James Halldon woke up in the dark, alone, without any food or water, and without a clue where he was.
And it only got stranger.
“Of all the places I had to end up, it had to be here.”
If it’s dark when you wake up, and you can hear growling, then close your eyes and maybe it will go away.
But maybe it won’t.

Hi Paula,
Wow, being compared to some of my favourite authors is certainly a compliment and a half!
I’d also like a maw, though I’m not a big fan of dogs!
Just finished this book – amazing read! Getting the next one for my kindle to start tonight. There were times I thought that CutterJack was going to bust through my walls and I have a cat, not a maw! Looking forward to the rest of the series.
Hi Alex – Hope you like the second book! The narrator character in Chasing Spirits is a different person, and this was unexpected for a few people.
I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of something Stephen King might write. I felt like I was living the nightmare. Can’t wait to read the next one. Mr James you have a winner here.
Thanks Austin, glad you liked it.
“The Broken lands” and “Chasing Spirits” are in this series, but “The Corridor” is still not finished yet.
Loved what I read! I can’t wait for more. You have a bright future ahead of you
as well as a loyal fan.
What a great read!!! Kudos!! Really enjoyed it! Just finished it, so I had to stop by and say Thank You for giving me a real joy ride!! I’ll be looking for more of your work in the future!!
@Robert + @John Thanks! I’ve set myself a challenge of 500,000 words this year, so there is plenty more on the way.
